About Me

I’m a part-time teacher and write on theology, technology education and pretty much anything else.

My most recent work has been around pirates, and why they are such important cultural figures. This will be published in mid-2012.

In Spring 2010 Other: Loving Self, God and Neighbour in a World of Fractures was published to wide praise by Hodder and Stoughton in the UK, and has been released in the US now through Church Publishing.

I’m also a consultant for BBC Education, and have published regularly around issues in Secondary Education.

In 2004 my first book, The Complex Christ was published by SPCK. It has also been released in the US under the title Signs of Emergence and in Germany as Der Jesus Faktor. I’ve also published poetry, and my first novel, Nothing, about the breakdown of a teacher in a London school, is currently with agents.

I am currently working on a new novel based on Steinbeck’s Cannery Row, set in a seaside village in Essex.
